The reflection of social status in the semantics of English phraseological units

Abstract

The present article is devoted to the analysis of English phraseological units which express social status of literary personages, i.e. fixed expressions which describe outcome, family conditions and professional activity of personages. Theoretical content of the article is proved by numerous examples.
