Abstract
This article provides a comprehensive overview of the Latin alphabet period in the history of Uzbekistan from 1930 to 1939. The political, social, and cultural aspects of the writing reform process are analyzed in depth, and its positive impact on literacy and the pursuit of modernity is highlighted, as well as its negative consequences for national memory and religious heritage. The article, based on archival documents, the press of that time, and scientific research, highlights the role and lessons of this period as a complex process. The results show that, although the transition to the Latin alphabet was an important factor in the spiritual renewal of the people, it also created difficulties for the process of preserving historical memory and national identity.
