Linguistic and corpus modeling of “Building-construction” terminology (on the material of English language)
Abstract
This article studies the methods of linguistic modeling and corpus analysis of terminology in the construction industry. The article analyzes the semantic and syntactic structure of construction terms, their usage features and interactions using corpus linguistics. Through the texts collected in the corpus, terms related to construction materials, processes, technical equipment and structures are studied, and their use in context and semantic changes are determined. In this regard, the subtle features of the construction language are studied by analyzing terms such as “concrete”, “iron”, “bedding”, “construction”. The article also provides scientific and practical recommendations for improving the terminology system and developing new terms. Corpus-based analysis methods play an important role in ensuring the clarity and uniformity of construction terminology, helping to create new terms, and updating them in accordance with the requirements of the industry. The results of the study can be useful for scientific and practical work in the construction industry. The article also presents new approaches and methods for studying terminology. In addition, based on the research findings, the frequency of terms, their collocational patterns, and their functional load in professional discourse are identified, and a systematic classification is developed. As a result, practical recommendations are proposed for the standardization of construction terminology, facilitation of the translation process, and the formation of an effective scientific and communicative environment in the field.
